How do you shorten a URL?

My question is how can you shorten a long URL without using any website. ..... because it's frustrating and not very eye-friendly when you have a huge URL in your siggy or practically anywhere.
So any help is appreciated

I know there is something called a Hyperlink which I learned in school > Go to Microsoft office word and try it out ;D Or look for a link on YouTube telling you how to do it

Theres also apps you can use, like on Firefox and Google Chrome that shorten URLS
