The Reaper's Game

So, you have made it this far. Getting to this page. If you are reading this, then you are most likely going to sign up for the Reaper's Game. A game that very few play intentionally. Luckily for you, this game won't put your life at stake, only your characters.

That's right. This roleplay? Dangerous. Actually, you have nothing really to lose at all, except for everything that has ever mattered to you. In fact, this game is the only chance you got at life.

Your character? Dead. This is the Reaper Game that echoes one of my favorite games. The World Ends with You. Don't look it up if you haven't seen it before. Spoils the uncertainty of the Roleplay. This Roleplay is comparable, but trust me, it is different.

You live in a busy city. New York City. It may not be where you came from, but it's the place you call home. Did I say you lived there? That was a mistake. Your character is dead. The Reaper Game is a competition for life. Achieve or face erasure. Survive one whole week, and you'll be restored to life. Back to the point where you died. You'll probably remember the Reaper Game. Outside of it. It sort of rewinds time just for you.

Every Day in the Reaper's Game (A Game Day, not an IRL Day), you will recieve a Challenge, and you'll need to complete it or you will be erased. This Roleplay is sort of merciless in some ways. You might not win everything, and everyone gets erased. Of course, that is very rare, but it happens.

And the game, still in New York. But no one can see you, except other players. Other people just go right through you. There are some 'see-ers' but they are rare.

Oh, and Reapers, they go after Players. Trying to erase them. They can't attack players directly until Day 7, but.... they are pretty evil. At the end of the 7 Days, you can choose be a Reaper or go back to life.

And that's it. See you in 7 Days. Hope you are still alive. Muhahaha!

When the game ends, there are ways to continue on. That will be discussed when it happens.

Oh, and another thing. Negativity of people creates a type of being called 'Noise'. They can also be created by Reapers. They will attack you if you don't have a partner. Oh yeah, and another thing, you need a partner to survive. 2 a Pair. You can group up, but you need a partner to survive, or you are dead.

I wake up. Loud street. How did I fall asleep on the pavement, with no one stepping on me? This is New York after all. I get up and brush myself off.

"New Message Recieved - The Reapers"

My Phone. Reapers? Spam. I mark it for deletion, but it won't.

"Find a partner, make a pact, or face erasure. - The Reapers" It displayed.

I rolled my eyes. What was this. Where was I. Probably Time Square.

(( Lily, just say you wait up somewhere. And you should know about the game. Jess has lost his memory. I'll tell you info you need to know, but you basically run up to me and scream "MAKE A PACT WITH ME!" ))

(I changed Cora's appearance a little)

(( How about this, you then remember your death, and remember the Reapers Game, and you see me just standing there, looking at my phone confused, and you run up to me because you see that I am a player. ))

I look around. "What the heck is going on here?"

(Urgh...Fine, I'll just start over...Gimme a sec...)

Cora looked around desperately, finally spotting a guy standing around in the middle of the street, looking confused. She ran over to him, grabbing onto his arm. "You have to make a pact with me!"

"Ummm? What? Get off me! Who are you?" I say absolutely startled.

(( Do whatever you like, slap him, yell at him, whatever. He'll end up making one with you. ))

Cora now grabbed him by both his shoulders, a desperate look in her eyes she shook him. "You heard me! I said make a pact with me!"

"Umm, okay.... I accept?" I say confused. There is a Flash of lights around them, and a golden band appears on their arms, with eachothers names inscribed on them.

Cora let out a breath of relief, brushing some hair out of her face as she smiled at him. "Sorry about that, I guess I was just getting a little desperate. My name is Cora, and you are...Jesse?" She asked, looking at her arm.

"Wait, what just happened? What is all of this? Where are we? Time Square, but.... HEY DID ANYONE ELSE SEE THAT?" I say. No one hears me.

Cora held up one finger as she answered each of his questions.
"We just made a pact, you are in a 'game', yes, we're in Time Square, and no, no one saw that. In fact, no one can see us, period."

"Then.... Hmm. A game.... why am I in this 'game' "

Cora looked at him, her expression blank. "Because you're dead."

"Dead? I don't remember dying....." I then think back. I can't remember anything at all. I don't have any memories, nothing.

Cora nodded. "Yep. You're dead. It's why the people here can't see you. Only a few can, but people like that are really rare..."

".....And let me guess. This game is our second chance at life?"

"That is correct" A man announces, with demonic wings. "Now, if you have any questions ask now. Because later on this week, I'll destroy you. Haha, I'm setting a challenge this week. Focusing on Erasing you two. Or do you want me to do the quick run-through, so that you can move on to day two, and get through the week faster."

"I honestly don't care...Jesse, what do you think?"

"Quick Run-through."

"Alright, This is the Reaper Game. I am a Reaper. We erase you. We give you one mission daily. We can't attack you directly until Day 7, but until then, we can send Noise to attack you.

As a fee to enter the game, you have lost the thing that is most important to you. Once you beat the game, it will return. At the end of the week, if you survive, we will decide if you are ready to return to the real world, back to life. If you aren't, we will allow you to join us in the ranks of Reapers, or.... play the game again. Or Erasure, if you welcome Death.

Lastly, Trust your partner with your life. Get to know eachother. Or you will lose. You need trust. I hope you survive. Even though I am going to try and erase you."

"Thanks. It's so nice to know someone who is out for our blood is rooting for us," Cora muttered.

The Reaper leaves.

"....Hmph. What was most important to you.... Cora? Do you know what your thing was?"
